SleepyTimeVoice: Bedtime Stories To Help You Sleep - The Shephard Boy & The Wolf by Aesop

Richard

Aesop's Fables, or the Aesopica, is a collection of fables credited to Aesop, a slave and storyteller believed to have lived in ancient Greece between 620 and 564 BCE.

While he may have created many of the stories, there are a number that are ascribed to him that originated before his time, or came from outside of Greece, and many have continued to be added on to his legacy long after his death.

There are nearly 600 fables under Aesop's name - The Shephard Boy & The Wolf, also known as The Boy Who Cried Wolf, is numbered 210 in the Perry Index. It is a familiar moral tale of a young Shephard boy who tricks his neighbours to amuse himself until one day he needs them and finds that they no longer believe him.

This version is suitable for all ages and a lovely story to fall asleep to while learning that liars never prosper.
